About the Role
We are seeking a full-time Analyst focused on Russia and Eurasia. This role covers Russia, Belarus, Ukraine, Moldova, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, and the regional bodies that include them.
You will bring deep expertise in the politics and economies of this region, strong analytical and writing skills, and a working knowledge of Russian. The ideal candidate will have a PhD in a relevant field (politics, economics, or international relations) and prior experience in government, academia, or an analytical organization. Candidates with an MA and significant professional experience will also be considered.
Responsibilities include:
* Commissioning and editing submissions for the Oxford Analytica Daily Brief and related products, ensuring clarity, accuracy, and relevance.
* Writing executive summaries and short analysis, and after authorization, proofreading and approving briefs prepared by colleagues.
* Managing and developing a network of external contributors and regional specialists.
* Participating in daily editorial meetings and managing contributor budgets.
* Contributing regional expertise to other Dow Jones analysis products and departments.
* Representing Oxford Analytica in client meetings, external engagements, and broadcast media.
* Mentoring junior analysts and supporting recruitment and training.
* Participating in ad hoc projects, client engagement, and editorial responsibilities as needed.
* Fostering a collaborative, respectful, and professional working environment.
Qualifications include:
* A relevant MA or PhD in politics, economics, international relations, or a related field.
* Professional experience analyzing the politics and economy of Russia and Eurasia.
* Working knowledge of Russian.
* Strong analytical, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
* Excellent writing and editing skills, with attention to detail and deadlines.
* A proactive, collaborative mindset and the ability to work across teams.
