Are you a passionate and inspiring Music educator with a particular interest in choral music? Surbiton High School is seeking a talented Teacher of Music to join our vibrant and ambitious department.
About The Music Department
The Music Department at Surbiton High School is vibrant, thriving, and ambitious. We have over 450 individual instrumental and singing lessons taking place each week, and a large team of classroom teachers and VMTs (Visiting Instrumental Teachers). The Department achieves strong outcomes at both GCSE (Edexcel) and A Level (Eduqas), and students regularly leave to study Music at outstanding institutions.
What We’re Looking For
We’re ideally seeking someone with strong choral conducting and vocal coaching skills, and excellent subject knowledge. Keyboard skills would be a bonus. You’ll be a team player with a creative and energetic approach, ready to contribute to our co-curricular programme and inspire pupils of all abilities.
Your Role Will Include
* Planning and delivering engaging lessons from KS3 to A Level
* Leading and supporting choral and instrumental ensembles
* Creating a positive and inclusive learning environment
* Supporting pupils pastorally as a Form Tutor or Deputy Form Tutor
* Contributing to concerts, trips, and enrichment activities
* Participating in CPD and departmental development
