Area Sales Engineer – Industrial Electrical Control and Automation
We have an excellent opportunity for an experienced Area Sales Engineer/Area Sales Manager with a proven track record as a business developer and salesman in the Electrical Control and Automation industry to join our first‑class team.
Responsibilities
* Sell a range of high‑quality Industrial Automation products, including PLCs, control gear, switchgear, circuit protection, variable speed drives, sensors, HMI and process instrumentation to OEM, end user, system integrator and panel builder markets throughout the South Tyneside/Teeside area.
* Achieve defined sales targets and develop a personal plan to grow an existing portfolio of accounts while identifying new business opportunities.
* Deliver technical sales support and maintain up‑to‑date product knowledge.
* Communicate effectively with team members and clients, demonstrating strong organisation, teamwork, and autonomy.
* Maintain competency with Microsoft Office applications.
Qualifications
* Proven sales and technical experience in the Industrial Automation industry.
* Dramatic record of sales success and achievement, ideally as a Sales Engineer, Area Sales Manager or Technical Salesperson.
* Formal qualification in an Electrical/Electronic discipline (ONC/HND or higher) desirable but not essential; strong knowledge and sales ability otherwise.
* Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
* Strong organisational ability, teamwork, and autonomy.
* Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
