Salary – Up to £55,000 basic plus bonus OTE £70K+ Location: UK – North East

We are working with a global leader in industrial automation to recruit a commercially driven and strategic Sales Engineer for Northern region. This is a high-impact role for a sales professional who thrives on developing new opportunities while also nurturing and growing existing client relationships.
Role Overview
As a Sales Engineer, you will play a key role in driving growth across both new and existing accounts. You will be responsible for identifying high-potential prospects, initiating contact, and converting them into customers, while also managing a portfolio of existing clients to ensure continued engagement, project wins, and revenue growth.
Key Responsibilities
Identify and acquire new customers with strong market potential
Manage and grow a portfolio of existing clients
Develop tailored account plans that address customer needs and business goals
Conduct high-impact meetings, presentations, and product demonstrations
Secure project wins and drive increased turnover across your accounts
Maintain up-to-date client data and sales activity in CRM systems
Collaborate with internal teams across sales, innovation, and marketing
Contribute to promotional campaigns and support market development
Provide detailed reporting on pipeline progress, customer activity, and opportunities
Candidate Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Mechatronics, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (or equivalent experience)
3–5 years of B2B sales experience, ideally in industrial automation, engineering, or technical solutions
Track record of both acquiring new customers and developing existing business
Excellent communication and negotiation skills
Proactive, self-motivated, and results-focused
Comfortable working independently and in a team environment
Full UK/IE driving licence
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Fluent in English (additional languages such as German or Dutch are an advantage)
