My client, a market-leading multidisciplinary Civil and Environmental Consultancy, is seeking an Assistant Hydrologist to join their innovative team. This hybrid role is based in Shrewsbury. Applicants should have a strong academic background in Hydrology, Civil, or Water Engineering, with experience working for a UK-based Consultancy or Water Company on flood risk assessments or hydrological assessments.
It is beneficial for applicants to live locally to attend site visits in flood risk areas. This exciting opportunity allows candidates to join an experienced team working on flood risk assessments, catchment management, surface water, nutrient neutrality, re-wilding, and natural flood management projects for Local Authorities, Water Companies, and Government Bodies in the local area. Responsibilities include:
1. Flood Risk Assessments
2. Natural Flood Management
3. Re-wilding and Habitat Management
4. Re-wetting Farmland and Wetland Creation
5. Surface Water Management Plans
6. Large-scale Catchment Management Plans
7. Nutrient Neutrality Assessments
8. Water Quality Sampling and River Assessments
9. Pollution Incident Investigations
10. Flow Calculations
11. Flood Estimation
