We are currently recruiting for an experienced Technical Manager to join a well-established and growing food manufacturing business. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to take ownership of site-wide food safety and quality, while playing a key role within the leadership team.
The Role
As Technical Manager, you will lead all aspects of food safety, quality, and hygiene across the site. You will be responsible for ensuring high standards are maintained, supporting continuous improvement, and driving a strong quality culture throughout the business.
This is a hands-on leadership role, working cross-functionally with operations, production, and senior stakeholders to ensure compliance, audit readiness, and product excellence.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and manage the site’s food safety and quality systems, ensuring compliance with all relevant standards and legislation
* Act as the main point of contact for audits and inspections, maintaining strong audit readiness at all times
* Drive a positive food safety and quality culture across the site
* Oversee hygiene standards, cleaning processes, and pest control to ensure a compliant working environment
* Monitor and report on key KPIs, implementing corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives
* Manage, coach, and develop the technical team
* Work cross-functionally with operations and production to maintain product quality and standards
* Lead investigations into quality issues, ensuring effective root cause analysis and preventative actions
* Support new product launches and process improvements from a quality perspective
About You
* Experience within a technical or quality leadership role in food manufacturing (min 5 years)
* Strong understanding of food safety standards and audit processes
* Confident leading teams and influencing across departments
* Proactive, organised, and solutions-focused
* Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
