Stagecoach Cumbria & Lancashire operates 440 vehicles over 6 sites and our West Cumbria team are looking for people from a background in vehicle electrical engineering to be part of our growing team. You may be in a truck / HGV, rail, light commercial or automotive setting at the moment, but fancy a change of vehicle to enhance your skill‑set. Likewise, if you’ve got PCV experience, you’ll still find new opportunities to learn given the variety of our fleet.

Our West Cumbria depot operates a varied range of vehicles from minibuses and Double Deckers on a daily basis. We operate Alexander Dennis, Scania, Mercedes and Optare vehicles. Your role will involve ensuring vehicles are in tip‑top condition, troubleshooting electrical systems, performing preventive maintenance, and partnering with mechanics and engineers to deliver reliable service.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair electrical faults on buses and other public service vehicles.
• Conduct preventive and corrective maintenance on vehicle electrical systems.
• Work at depot and on the road dealing with vehicle issues.
• Collaborate with mechanics, technicians and engineering managers to resolve complex problems.
• Maintain accurate records of work performed and parts used.

Qualifications

• Background in vehicle electrical engineering (truck/HGV, rail, light commercial or automotive).
• Experience with PCV or other vehicle electrical systems is desirable.
• Strong problem‑solving skills and ability to learn new vehicle types.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Valid driving licence and willingness to travel between sites.
