Reception Class Teaching Assistant – Primary School (Cardiff)

Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:30am – 3:30pm
Are you looking for an exciting opportunity to support young learners at the very start of their educational journey? Teaching Personnel is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Cardiff.
This role is based in a Reception class, where you will play a key part in supporting children’s early development in a nurturing and engaging environment. You will be joining a supportive and forward-thinking team committed to creating a positive and inclusive learning space. The school values new ideas and offers ongoing support and feedback to help you grow professionally.
Key Responsibilities
* Support pupils with class activities, both in groups and on a 1:1 basis
* Assist the class teacher with preparing learning materials and resources
* Help create a safe, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment
* Supervise pupils throughout the school day, including break times
* Deliver small group interventions to support early literacy and numeracy development
What We’re Looking For
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills
* Good organisational skills and attention to detail
* A genuine passion for supporting children’s learning and development
* Experience working with children (professionally or personally)
Essential Requirements
* Enhanced DBS certificate (Child Workforce) – we can help arrange this
* Registration with the Education Workforce Council (EWC)
* Ability to provide professional references

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
