Senior Teaching Assistant - Aylesbury (SEMH Provision)
Salary: £115-£130 per day (Temp-to-Perm, Full-Time) | Start Date: ASAP
Are you an experienced and proactive Senior Teaching Assistant local to Aylesbury looking for a role with long-term potential? Academics are supporting a specialist SEMH provision in Aylesbury that is seeking a dedicated Senior Teaching Assistant to join their team on a temporary-to-permanent basis immediately.
As a Senior Teaching Assistant in Aylesbury, you will support pupils with social, emotional, and mental health needs and cover classes as required, ensuring continuity of learning across the school. You will work closely with teachers and pastoral staff, provide guidance to other support staff, deliver engaging lessons, and create a safe, inclusive, and structured environment for every learner.
Key Responsibilities:
Support pupils with SEMH and associated learning needs in 1:1, small groups, and whole-class settings
Cover classes as required, delivering lessons and maintaining a positive learning environment
Mentor and support other teaching assistants and support staff
Implement behaviour and learning strategies to support student progress
Work collaboratively with staff and external professionals to meet individual student needsThe ideal Senior Teaching Assistant will:
Have experience working with children or young people with SEMH or behavioural needs
Be confident covering classes and leading learning activities
Possess strong communication, organisational, and teamwork skills
