This incredible individual has autism and epilepsy, and while he may sometimes display challenging behaviors, he is also full of fun! He thrives in the company of those who genuinely care and want to help him live a fulfilling life. Whether it’s enjoying a relaxing massage while watching TV or engaging in sensory play, your support will make a real difference.
You’ll assist him with everyday activities like healthy eating, emotional support, and learning new skills. He loves long countryside walks, visiting parks, dining out, and unwinding with music. Building a genuine connection with him is key to understanding his needs and preferences.
Shift Patterns
This is a 24-hour service, so flexibility is essential. You will be working a variety of shifts, including nights and weekends.
Role Responsibility
Your Day-to-Day Tasks:
This is a hands-on role where no two days are the same! You’ll support him in living life to the fullest, both at home and in the community. Your daily activities may include:
* Preparing nutritious meals
* Maintaining a clean and comfortable home
* Planning fun and engaging activities
* Enjoying walks in the beautiful countryside
You’ll promote his independence, help him develop life skills, and support his overall wellbeing. Personal care and medication assistance will also be part of your role, along with accurate record-keeping to maintain high standards of care.
The Ideal Candidate
Are you fit and active? He loves going out for walks, rain or shine! We need a Support Worker who can help him develop his skills and enjoy a structured, fulfilling routine.
Patience and understanding are essential. You’ll need to follow his lead and work strategically to reduce anxiety and enhance his quality of life. Confidence in adhering to agreed rules and routines is crucial for the safety of both him and yourself.
We’re looking for someone with the right attitude who can collaborate with his friends, family, and wider support team. Being a team player is vital, but you should also be comfortable working independently when needed.
