Role Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic practitioner with perioperative experience, particularly within the scrub role. The individual must demonstrate excellent communication skills and deliver exceptional high standards of care. When not required to assist in surgery, the role will also include duties related to the Deputy Charge Nurse. The position is part of a fast‑paced, dynamic team within a six‑theatre main theatre department, providing care in elective orthopaedics, urology, general and bariatric surgery.
Responsibilities
* Assist in surgery as a surgical first assistant.
* Support the Deputy Charge Nurse in duties.
* Work collaboratively in a safe, caring, respectful environment.
* Maintain high standards of perioperative care across specialties.
Qualifications & Requirements
* First level registration with the NMC/HCPC and working towards or having post‑registration / degree level education.
* Experience in the perioperative scrub role.
* Completion (or intent to complete within 18 months) of the SFA course parts 1 & 2.
* Demonstrated excellent communication skills.
Hours
37 per week – 4 shifts of 08:00 – 18:00.
