Grounds Maintenance Operative
Salary: £25,552
Location: Stockport, Manchester
Type: Permanent, Full-Time
You will undertake grounds maintenance works to communal environments, including communal grounds around homes, open space grassed areas, and landscaped areas. You will deliver a maintenance programme as part of a team that contributes to excellent service delivery. You will collaborate with caretaking teams, other GPHG colleagues, and external partners to maintain clean, green, and safe environments. Seasonal duties include snow and ice removal, gritting, litter picking, fly tip removal, and reporting communal and environmental maintenance issues, working jointly with others to deliver excellent services.
Responsibilities:
1. Complete grounds maintenance activities in line with Great Places schemes and communal environmental standards, including grass cutting, edging, hedge trimming, planting, spraying, and leaf and litter clearance.
2. Operate various hand tools, power tools, and vehicles, conducting daily defect checks and reporting any damage or maintenance needs.
3. Report graffiti, vandalism, repairs, and defects in external communal areas.
4. Assist seasonally with snow and ice clearance, gritting, and other health and safety maintenance activities.
5. Adhere to all relevant quality standards and health and safety/COSHH regulations.
6. Perform daily checks of vehicles and equipment, ensuring they are clean and properly stored.
7. Work safely with herbicides/pesticides per regulations and report invasive weeds.
8. Report safeguarding concerns following organizational guidelines.
Requirements:
* Full UK driving license with a minimum of 2 years driving experience
* Previous experience in Grounds Maintenance
* Excellent customer service skills
