**Important notice**
In line with our redeployment policy, we’ll prioritise applications from employees who are under formal notice of redundancy.
‘Looking after what we’ve got’ is the essence of what we do every day, so with a range of buildings to care for alongside busy visitor facilities, we’re looking for a Facilities Assistant to ensure the safe operation, upkeep and presentation of the Longshaw Estate.
Hours: 26.5 per week to be worked over five days (including a Saturday or Sunday during busy periods)
What it's like to work here
You’ll join the Facilities & Support Services team across the Peak District to look after our many buildings and visitor facilities. With lots going on at all times, you can guarantee no day will be the same.
What you'll be doing
You’ll play a core part in making sure that Longshaw’s buildings and outdoor spaces are safe and presentable for everyone.
You’ll quickly get to know our places inside-out as you’ll access all areas to complete routine safety tests, learn about our services and help with day-to-day operations. You’ll have an eye on presentation at all times, undertaking caretaking duties such as cleaning, emptying bins, sweeping and litter picking in staff and visitor areas, both indoors and outdoors.
You'll sometimes find yourself working alone while at other times you’ll be working alongside colleagues. You’ll work closely with Longshaw’s Facilities & Support Services Co-ordinator and our Rangers to organise planned, preventative and reactive repairs, meet contractors, respond promptly to issues, and conduct minor repairs where appropriate.
Whatever the day brings, you’ll ensure the highest standards of customer service by always implementing a ‘customer comes first’ attitude.

We’d love to hear from you if you're:
