About The Role
We are looking for an LGV Driver to join our team in Middlesbrough, based in Billingham. You will need to have your Class 2 licence and your HIAB/ALMI qualification. This role has ever-changing priorities, so adaptability and flexibility are essential for success.
To complete all tasks effectively, a good level of fitness is required to safely load and unload your vehicle at customer sites and Selwood branches.
Good communication skills are essential, as you will need to communicate with the hire desk, colleagues, and customers to ensure tasks are completed to a high standard.
As part of the role, you will be involved in a call-out rota.

Key Responsibilities
* Understand and comply with digital Tachograph operation and drivers’ hours legislation.
* Maintain understanding and compliance with the Working Time Directive for mobile workers, observing all statutory break periods and prioritizing driver’s hours rules.
* Ensure all loading and unloading activities are carried out safely and efficiently, with loads properly secured to prevent overloading and movement during transit, including manual handling of hoses.
* Be aware of scheduled 6-weekly safety inspections and liaise with the Manager and garage to organize these inspections.
* Perform daily vehicle maintenance and defect checks, report defects promptly, and monitor the vehicle throughout the day for any signs of issues.
Qualifications & Experience
* Full LGV Cat C driving licence with no more than 6 points (Cat C+E advantageous)
* Driver DQC Card (Driver CPC)
* Digital tachograph card
* HIAB/ALMI certificate
* Experience in a similar industry
* Over 21 years of age (for insurance purposes)
Work must be carried out in compliance with Department of Transport Regulations and The Highway Code, prioritizing safety for yourself, colleagues, and the public.
