The Lifeways Group in Choppington is currently expanding its team of Support Workers in our local residential services.
The property consists of two separate bungalows, connected by a corridor and sharing a utility room. Flax One has five bedrooms, and Flax Two has four. Both bungalows feature one bathroom with a shower over a high-low bath, overhead tracking, and an accessible toilet. Flax One includes a kitchen, an open-plan dining and living room, and an accessible toilet. Flax Two has a kitchen, a dining room, a living room, a laundry room, and an accessible toilet. Additionally, Flax Cottages have two accessible gardens with patios, suitable for outdoor activities and social gatherings like BBQs. Assistive technology can be tailored to individual needs, and the property offers level access with widened doors in Flax One for wheelchair accessibility.
We are looking for either enthusiastic individuals with patience and a desire for a career change to bring new life and experiences into our service, or experienced Support Workers with a background in complex emotional or behavioural settings seeking a change. You will be part of a team making a difference for two young people with complex needs, providing them with new opportunities both at home and in the community.
We offer a fully paid induction, ongoing training and support from a dedicated manager, and the opportunity to undertake a funded qualification in health and social care, among other benefits.
Our approach is based on person-centred support, enabling development and inclusion in daily life within their home and community. Each service user has a self-contained room, and your work will involve supporting a variety of activities such as swimming, shopping, visiting cafes, cinemas, zoos, and clubs.
You will assist with household chores like cooking, laundry, vacuuming, and dusting, and in some cases, provide personal care including bathing, toileting, and feeding.
CONTRACTS AVAILABLE
Sessional/bank hours (flexible working to fit around you)
Shift patterns include some weekends and are on a rota basis
