Overview
We are recruiting for 1 x Band 6 Permanent Specialist Speech and Language Therapist to work within Children\'s Speech and Language Therapy in Knowsley Community Paediatric Service. You will deliver high quality care to service users across a range of settings (homes, schools, nurseries, children\'s centres and clinics) and work flexibly to meet needs. The role includes assessment and appropriate paediatric interventions, providing 1:1 and group-based care, training and programmes of care. Caseloads may include children and young people with a range of speech, language and communication needs. You will have regular 1:1 and group supervision and may supervise students. This post is subject to an enhanced DBS check.
Main duties
Undertake assessment in a variety of clinical settings, demonstrate evidence-based treatment options and formulate individualised treatment programmes within service parameters. Evaluate patient progress, reassess and adjust treatment with support from senior colleagues. Be flexible to service needs and manage a designated area of work, planning and organising your patient/client caseload and non-patient responsibilities. Participate in continuing professional development and share knowledge with colleagues. Participate in annual Personal Achievement Contribution Evaluation (PACE). Willingness to travel to perform duties.

Job responsibilities
Clinical
* Utilise a range of formal, informal, observational and play-based assessment tools and interpret results to inform care with appropriate support as needed.
* Implement care/interventions based on research and demonstrate evidence-based practice.
* Maintain an early years and school-aged caseload.
* Provide professional clinical advice and demonstrate intervention approaches to patients, carers and colleagues within education.
Clinical Governance / Research / Audit
* Understand clinical governance and risk management and apply to own work.

Communication
* Communicate effectively with patients and carers to maximise potential and ensure understanding of conditions and goals, showing sensitivity and empathy.

Qualifications
* Accredited Speech and Language Therapy qualification (BSc)
* HCPC Registration

* RCSLT membership
* Postgraduate training/qualification in Dysphagia
Knowledge and experience

* Person-centred service delivery
