Pay Rate: Up to £350 per day PAYE
Hours per week: 37 Monday – Friday, normal working hours
This opening assignment is for 12 months with strong likelihood of extension

Summary of what the candidate must have to apply:
* Strong experience in Democratic Services, ideally at senior level
* Proven background supporting committees, scrutiny or governance functions
* Excellent minute taking and report writing skills
* Experience advising senior officers and elected members
* Confident managing agendas, reports and decision-making processes
* Experience using ModGov or similar systems
* Able to work at pace and manage competing deadlines
The role: You will support the delivery of governance and democratic services during a period of improvement and redesign.
Working across committees, scrutiny and decision-making functions, you’ll ensure high-quality governance, compliance and member support.
One role may focus more on Health & Adult Social Care governance.
Key accountabilities:
* Support formal meetings – committees, scrutiny panels and executive functions
* Manage agendas, forward plans and governance workflows
* Provide procedural advice to members and senior officers
* Produce clear, accurate minutes and reports
* Support scrutiny reviews – research, reporting and tracking outcomes
* Ensure timely publication of papers and decisions
* Use ModGov to manage end-to-end governance processes
* Contribute to governance improvement and service redesign
* Support wider member services where required
Requirements/key criteria:
* Strong organisational and communication skills
* High attention to detail and accuracy
* Politically aware and confident working in complex environments
* Able to build relationships with senior stakeholders
* Flexible and proactive approach
* Desirable: experience in governance improvement, transformation or public sector reform
* Desirable: exposure to Health or Adult Social Care governance
