Classroom Assistant Salary : £28,142.00 - £29,540.00 Job type : Full Time Contract type : Fixed Term Closing : 29/05/2026 12:00 Interview : 24/4/2026 Your Role Learning Support Department The Learning Support Department is central to the academic progress, inclusion, and wellbeing of students within our all-ability, integrated school community. The department plays a key role in supporting students with a range of needs, ensuring that barriers to learning are minimised and that all pupils are enabled to achieve their full potential. This work underpins both the academic and pastoral life of the school. Role Purpose To support the learning, development, and wellbeing of pupils with additional needs, under the direction of the Head of Learning Support and teaching staff, enabling access to the curriculum and full participation in school life. Key Duties and Responsibilities To meet designated pupil(s) on arrival at school and ensure their safe transition to and from transport at the end of the day. To provide in-class support in accordance with guidance from the Head of Learning Support and subject teachers. To prepare, adapt, and organise appropriate learning resources to meet the needs of individual pupils. To support individuals and small groups in targeted learning activities, including literacy, numeracy, and handwriting. To accompany pupil(s) between classes, ensuring their safety, engagement, and readiness to learn. To accompany and support pupil(s) during educational visits and off-site activities. To supervise pupil(s), as required, during break times, lunchtime, and at the end of the school day. To support the implementation of behaviour management strategies in line with school policies. To assist in the preparation and organisation of school events, including prize-giving and other formal occasions. To maintain an awareness of and adhere to all school policies and procedures, including those relating to safeguarding and confidentiality. To undertake additional duties, appropriate to the level of the post, as directed by the Principal, Head of Learning Support, Bursar, or teaching staff.
