Hill McGlyn Recruitment are proud to be partnering with a well-established Main Contractor based in Romford, who are looking to appoint a talented Design Coordinator / Technical Coordinator to join their growing team.
This is an excellent opportunity to become part of a forward-thinking construction business delivering a mix of new build residential schemes, repairs & refurbishment works, and cladding replacement projects across London and the South East.
The Role:
As Design Coordinator / Technical Coordinator, you'll play a key role in managing the design process from pre-construction through to delivery on site. Working closely with Project Managers, Architects, Engineers, and Clients, you'll ensure technical information is accurate, coordinated, and compliant with project requirements and current building regulations.
Key responsibilities include:
Coordinating design information between internal teams, consultants, and subcontractors.
Reviewing drawings and technical documentation to ensure buildability and compliance.
Managing the flow of information between design and construction teams.
Supporting tender and pre-construction design input.
Liaising with local authorities and warranty providers.
Ensuring technical specifications meet client and regulatory standards.
Assisting in the delivery of façade and cladding remediation projects with a focus on quality and compliance.
The Candidate:
We're keen to speak to Design or Technical Coordinators from a main contracting or developer background, ideally with experience in residential construction, refurbishment, or cladding projects .
You'll ideally have:
A solid understanding of UK Building Regulations and NHBC / warranty requirements.
Proven experience coordinating design information for construction projects.
Excellent communication and organisational skills.
A proactive, solution-focused approach with a strong eye for detail.
HNC / HND or Degree in Construction, Architecture, or Engineering (preferred).
The Offer:
Salary: £45,000 - £55,000 (depending on experience)
