Clinical/Counselling Psychologist or CBT Psychotherapist

The postholder will be a member of the Early Intervention multi-disciplinary team, working with 14-65 year olds and/or their families/social networks who are regarded as meeting criteria for a first episode of psychosis or an At-Risk Mental State. This may involve working with individuals and/or families/social networks who present with a range of difficulties, including voices, visions and extreme suspiciousness. Proactively engaging communities to facilitate intervention at the earliest stage to prevent an escalation of difficulties and more aversive and coercive interventions may also be part of this role.

The postholder will work alongside and support the multidisciplinary team to implement trauma- and recovery-orientated care. This may include consulting or supervising around appropriate psychologically-informed interventions.

Job responsibilities

AtAspire, we are implementing some exciting and innovative approaches totherapeutic and trauma-informed care across the service, such as Open Dialogueand third wave therapies, in addition to providing NICE-concordant CBTp andFamily Interventions. This comes in thecontext of Inspire North being an actively Anti-Racist organisation.

Wewill consider people who are close to completing current training courses. Theposition would be an excellent opportunity to develop, joining a creative andthriving psychology team that includes psychologists, cognitive-behaviouralpractitioners, systemic therapists and dramatherapy.


Person Specification


Experience

* Experience of delivering psychological approaches to people presenting with a range of complex difficulties and presentations
* Experience of working in an ARMS/Early Intervention service and/or applying the principles and model of early intervention
* Experience of working with adolescents and/or working or liaising with the Child & Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS)
* Experience in mental health, housing or homelessness, whether as a client, carer, employee or volunteer.

Qualifications

* To hold, or be working towards, a relevant psychology or psychotherapy qualification (e.g. accredited doctoral level training in clinical/counselling psychology; postgraduate qualification in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) plus eligibility for BABCP accreditation)
* Hold or working towards current professional registration/accreditation with the Health & Care Professions Council (HCPC) or British Association of Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP)
