Location: Hemel Hempstead (Office / Working from Home – Full Time)
Travel: UK project sites as required

The Role
The Part II Architectural Assistant will support and deliver design work across multiple projects, working through all stages from concept to delivery. The role includes delivering smaller projects independently and/or taking responsibility for defined packages or phases within larger, more complex schemes.
The position requires strong technical and creative capability, confidence in client-facing situations, and the ability to work collaboratively with internal teams, consultants, subcontractors, and suppliers.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop innovative, practical, and aesthetically strong design concepts aligned with project briefs and educational requirements
* Prepare rendered plans, sections, elevations, furniture layouts, colour and material boards, and presentation materials
* Produce and coordinate drawings across concept, schematic design, and design development stages
* Independently deliver design concepts, including: Space planning and layouts, FF&E selection and utilisation, Lighting, colour, and material coordination
* Create 2D and 3D drawings, visualisations, and rendered outputs to clearly communicate design intent
* Prepare for and participate in internal design reviews and client presentations
* Assist in keeping projects aligned with programme and budget constraints
* Coordinate with consultants, suppliers, and contractors to integrate all required information into design outputs
* Support procurement activities, including: Product sourcing, Liaising with suppliers and subcontractors, Assisting with bids and fabrication coordination
* Ensure compliance with relevant technical standards, regulations, and building codes
* Contribute to sustainable and environmentally responsible design solutions
* Assist with technical research and specification documentation where required
* Mentor and support junior team members when appropriate
* Maintain a strong focus on both internal and external client service
Software and Technical Requirements
Strong working proficiency is required in:
* Revit (essential)
* AutoCAD (essential)
* SketchUp
* Adobe InDesign
* Enscape
* Microsoft Office
Experience translating design concepts into coordinated, technical, and construction-ready information is essential.
Qualifications and Experience
* Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Interior Design, or a related discipline
* Minimum 4 years’ professional experience delivering architectural and/or interior design projects
* Experience within commercial, education, or workplace environments preferred
* Environmental or sustainability accreditation desirable but not essential
* Solid understanding of: Space planning, FF&E, Materials and finishes, Technical detailing and coordination
* Competence in graphic design, hand sketching, rendering, and presentation preparation
* Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines within defined programmes and budgets
* Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills
* Confidence working as part of a multidisciplinary team
