A leading advanced engineering company based in Norwich is looking to appoint a Bids & Proposals Engineer to join their commercial and engineering function.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a commercially minded engineer or experienced proposals professional to play a key role in managing the end-to-end bid process for high-value, bespoke engineering projects supplied to global markets.
Key Responsibilities:
* Review and manage incoming RFIs and RFQs, ensuring accurate interpretation of scope, technical requirements and commercial terms
* Work closely with internal teams including Sales, Operations and Engineering to develop accurate cost estimates and bid content
* Prepare compelling and compliant bid documentation including executive summaries, technical content and pricing models
* Maintain and update CRM and ERP systems to track bid activity
* Support bid/no-bid decision-making and lead internal bid review meetings
* Liaise directly with clients where required to support proposal clarification and negotiation
* Ensure bids are completed in line with company quality and compliance procedures
Skills & Experience Required:
* Previous experience in a Bids & Proposals, Tendering or Technical Sales Support role
* Ability to manage bids from concept to submission
* Familiarity with BOMs and cost structures
* Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Teams) and CRM systems
* Confident communicator, capable of engaging with internal stakeholders and external clients
* Highly organised with strong attention to detail
* Engineering qualification (ONC/HNC/Degree level or equivalent) - Electrical bias desirable
* Experience with ERP systems and proposal management tools advantageous
Desirable:
* Experience managing bids for complex engineering projects
* Familiarity with PQQs and formal bid processes
* Ability to work across multiple bids and meet tight deadlines
