Main duties of the job
The post holder will support our pharmacists to carry out medicines reconciliation for our newly admitted patients and the assessment of patients own drugs. You will support in the day to day coordination of in-patient medication supply as well discharge medicines, ward top-ups and patient counselling. You will also be involved in data collection for audits and provide training support for other healthcare staff, trainees and students.
The pharmacy service is seeking a medicines management technician to:
o Play a full and active role in the provision of a high-quality pharmaceutical service to wards, community teams, units & departments.
o Provide and participate in the following: ward-based clinical pharmacy, support the clozapine dispensing service, patient counselling, training of other healthcare professionals in medicines optimisation and management.
o Support the monitoring of clinical governance processes through undertaking ward & team-based audits.

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS
Essential
19. Current GPhC Registration on the Pharmacy Technicians' Register.
20. NVQ level 3 in Pharmacy Services or suitable equivalent
21. Evidence of CPD
Desirable
22. Accredited Checking Pharmacy Technician Qualification
23. AIMMS Qualification or HEE Medicine Management Module completion
EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE
Essential
24. Awareness of the role of medicines optimisation in advancing individualised care
25. Knowledge of local and national policies which influence the provision of pharmacy services
26. Experience of working within multi-disciplinary teams
