Supported Living Worker

Location: Cranleigh, Surrey

Salary:£28,784-£29,879 per year

Contract: Permanent, 37 hours per week (rota basis, including alternate weekends)

Make a real difference every day

Are you looking for a rewarding role where you can support adults with additional needs to live fulfilling, independent lives? If so, they'd love to hear from you.

They are a supported living house based in Cranleigh, part of The Specialist Trust. Their tenants have a range of needs, including autistic spectrum disorders, learning difficulties and language and communication challenges.

They’re looking for caring, compassionate people to join their friendly team. This position is to support a female resident and so due to their ratios for staff – They are looking for a female Supported Living Worker to join us. No previous experience is required - just empathy, resilience and a positive attitude. They’ll give you a full induction, specialist training and ongoing support so you feel confident from day one. Because of the needs of their resident’s physical, emotional and mental resilience is essential.

What you’ll be doing

As a Supported Living Worker, you’ll help tenants with all aspects of daily life - from cooking, cleaning and shopping to accessing the community, attending college or enjoying trips out. You’ll also support them in their leisure time.

Sometimes tenants may feel anxious or frustrated. They’ll equip you with the skills and confidence to support them safely and effectively, including Team Teach positive behaviour training (fully funded and refreshed every year).

Because of their semi-rural location, a driving licence and access to transport is highly desirable. You may be required to drive tenants or staff using your own vehicle (with appropriate insurance) or a company vehicle.

Why join The Specialist Trust?

Along with the satisfaction of making a real difference, they offer:

* £1,000 retention bonus (£250 after 1 month, £250 after 1 year, £500 after 18 months) - subject to tax / NI)
* Fully funded QCF Level 3 Diploma in Health & Social Care (with opportunity to progress to Senior Support Worker)
* Life Insurance and Medical Cashplan (after 1 month’s service)
* Personalised CPD and regular 1:1 support
* Employee Assistance Programme - confidential wellbeing support 24/7
* Staff discounts on local fitness classes
* 25 days paid annual leave and bank holidays (if working over bank holidays these will be paid and holiday accrued)

Please note: they are unable to offer sponsorship for overseas applicants at this time.

The Specialist Trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults. This position requires an enhanced DBS disclosure and satisfactory references.

If you feel you are a suitable candidate and would like to work for The Specialist Trust, please do not hesitate to apply.
