Residential Children’s Care Home Manager
London Borough
£50,000 | Full-time salary, part-time hours to start (9-12 months)
Are you ready to lead and shape a brand-new Children’s Home from the ground up?
Our client is seeking a passionate, experienced Residential Care Home Manager to take the lead in launching and managing a 3-bed Children’s Home for young people with emotional and behavioural needs.
This role begins on a part-time basis (1-3 days/week) for the first 9-12 months during the setup phase, with full-time pay from day one. Full-time hours will commence once the home opens.
Key Responsibilities:
* Set up and register the home in line with Ofsted and local authority standards.
* Lead all operational aspects, ensuring high-quality, therapeutic, child-centred care.
* Recruit, supervise, and support the care team.
* Develop and oversee tailored care plans for each child.
* Maintain high safeguarding standards and ensure regulatory compliance.
* Build and maintain strong partnerships with families, professionals, and agencies.
* Manage budgets and allocate resources effectively.
What They’re Looking For:
* Proven experience managing or deputising in a children’s residential setting.
* NVQ Level 5 (or equivalent) in Health & Social Care/Leadership.
* Strong knowledge of safeguarding and children’s residential care regulations.
* A compassionate, resilient, and organised leader.
* Experience working with children with emotional or behavioural difficulties.
* Familiarity with Ofsted inspections and local authority processes.
* Ongoing training and professional development
