Electrical Maintenance Engineer Location: Cramlington Hours: 39 hours per week (Days) Additional: Enhanced rate available for shift work About the Role We’re seeking an experienced Electrical Maintenance Engineer to join a leading oilfield equipment supplier. This hands-on role involves inspecting, servicing, and repairing electrical and where appropriate, basic mechanical systems across a busy manufacturing facility. You’ll ensure all work is carried out safely, efficiently, and in full compliance with relevant standards and regulations. Key Responsibilities * Service, repair and maintain all electrical and mechanical plant equipment and facility systems * Diagnose faults using technical manuals, schematics, and diagnostic software * Conduct preventative maintenance to minimise downtime and improve reliability * Identify and advise management of potential equipment or plant issues * Support and cross-train other maintenance team members, providing guidance to junior operatives * Maintain accurate departmental records and contribute to reliability improvement projects * Source required components and external services where necessary * Produce technical documentation, including risk assessments, LOTO procedures, and maintenance reports Quality & Compliance * Work in line with ISO 9001 and API Q1 quality standards * Ensure all works are properly recorded, traceable, and compliant * Perform inspection and testing to IEE 18th Edition Regulations, BS 2391, or equivalent standards * Be CompEx certified (or willing to complete CompEx training and certification) Health & Safety * Comply with all site and company Health & Safety procedures * Identify and resolve potential HSE issues relating to electrical systems * Always wear appropriate PPE and follow safe systems of work What We’re Looking For * Time-served Electrical Maintenance Engineer or equivalent qualification * Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills * Experience maintaining plant and equipment within an industrial or manufacturing environment * Sound understanding of electrical safety, testing, and inspection standards * A proactive, team-oriented approach with strong attention to detail Benefits * Competitive base salary * Enhanced rates for shift work * Ongoing training and development, including CompEx certification * Opportunities to work on diverse and technically challenging equipment
