About the Armed Forces Pathway

Mott MacDonald’s Armed Forces Pathway supports military personnel transitioning into civilian careers. It provides training, mentorship and network opportunities tailored to the unique experiences and skills of military personnel. You will be paired with a supportive buddy from our Mott MacDonald Forces community.


About the Business Unit

We help conceive, drive and implement transport solutions for cities, regions and asset owners/operators worldwide. From preparing the business case and advising on related issues – such as revenue, procurement and environmental legislation – to delivering and maintaining infrastructure. Our planning, engineering, environmental and management skills cover the whole project cycle.


Overview of the Role

We seek experienced Civil Engineers to be part of our Transport and Mobility Solutions Division. You will be accountable for developing design solutions in the local streets and infrastructure portfolio from concepts and feasibility plans to designs for planning application and construction details, using the latest digital design delivery methods. Our focus lies on innovative, sustainable project solutions that drive efficiency and social value for our clients.


Responsibilities

* Use and expand your knowledge to deliver cost‑effective, innovative, safe, sustainable solutions that benefit the community now and in the future.
* Mentor and develop the skills and capabilities of junior team members.
* Comply with the requirements of our Integrated Management System, including Health & Safety, Environmental and all other appropriate regulations.
* Work with a range of clients from local authorities, public and private developers to contractors.
* Use digital solutions to deliver a right‑first‑time approach.


Candidate Specification

* Relevant degree qualification, preferably with an additional professional qualification(s). Candidates with relevant equivalent experience are invited to apply.
* Technically astute, with some experience of mentoring and developing apprentices and graduates.
* Demonstrable experience of working across multi‑discipline design projects, with a strong understanding of sound engineering principles.
* Confident communicator with good verbal and written skills.


Competencies & Skills

* Problem solving, offering solutions to challenges.
* Computer literate.
* Self‑motivated with a drive to achieve continuous improvement targets.
* Strong Health and Safety focus.

Offers for this role are conditional upon obtaining the appropriate level of Security Clearance.
