NHS Grampian invites enthusiastic applicants for a Consultant Paediatrician with an interest in Respiratory, based within Royal Aberdeen Children’s Hospital (RACH). The post holder will join three other Consultants in Paediatric Respiratory Medicine in RACH and work within the North of Scotland Paediatric Respiratory Network.
Position Details
The successful appointee will contribute to an on‑call 1:10 rota and a Consultant‑of‑the‑Week rota (approximately 5 weeks a year). RACH provides specialist inpatient and outpatient care across many paediatric specialties and hosts an Accident & Emergency Department with approximately 8,000 annual attendances. It also has a 10‑bedded Paediatric Assessment Unit, a 30‑bedded Medical Ward, a 4‑bedded High Dependency Unit and a Community Child Health Department.
Responsibilities
* Provide paediatric respiratory and general paediatric care within RACH.
* Serve on the 1:10 on‑call rota and Consultant‑of‑the‑Week rota.
* Participate in the North of Scotland Paediatric Respiratory Network activities.
Qualifications & Requirements
* Full registration with a licence to practise with the GMC (licence must be in place before starting).
* Evidence of higher specialist training leading to CCT or be within 6 months of confirmed entry on the GMC Specialist Register from date of interview.
* CESR or Portfolio Pathway route doctors must have specialist registration awarded. Doctors with an International Recognised Specialist Qualification approved by GMC should have a confirmed entry on the GMC Specialist Register.
* For those not on the GMC Specialist Register, a Locum Consultant post (up to 12 months) may be considered.
Eligibility
Applicants trained in the UK with appropriate specialist training and experience will be considered. Internationally trained doctors must meet GMC certification or registration requirements.
