This role will see you leading health and safety improvements across our diverse trading estate – including food stores, pharmacies, funeral homes and office locations. Using incident data, audit results and regulatory updates, you’ll monitor compliance, drive change, and promote a culture of safety across the Society. Key responsibilities will include: Investigating incidents, near misses and environmental issues to determine root causes and implement solutions. Leading audits, creating reports and managing follow-up actions to ensure legal and internal standards are met. Developing and delivering health and safety training alongside our Learning and Development team. Producing and updating risk assessments, procedures, procedures and communicating changes across the business. Supporting stakeholder engagement through practical advice and accessible guidance, both internally and externally. Encouraging and empowering colleagues to report concerns, suggest improvements and embed safe working behaviours. You’ll also represent Lincolnshire Co-op at external events and work closely with enforcing bodies, insurers, contractors and other partners. INDMP About You You’ll bring energy, initiative and a collaborative approach to safety management. You’ll be at ease working across a fast-paced, multi-site environment and be confident influencing behaviours and decisions at every level. What we’re looking for: A recognised health and safety qualification (NEBOSH, IOSH) is desirable, but full training will be provided. Excellent communication skills – written and verbal – with a calm, professional approach. Experience in retail or multi-site settings is an advantage. Ability to build trusted relationships internally and externally. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Confidence reading and responding to situations constructively. Effective time management and the ability to prioritise. Competence using Microsoft Office 365 tools. A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for business use.
