Shifts : 7am to 6pm (4/5 days a week)
Job Summary
We are seeking a talented and experienced Head Chef to lead our kitchen team in delivering exceptional culinary experiences. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in food production and preparation, with a passion for hospitality and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of food safety. As the Head Chef, you will be responsible for overseeing kitchen operations, managing staff, and ensuring that all dishes are prepared to perfection.
Responsibilities
* Supervise and manage kitchen staff, providing guidance and support to ensure efficient operations.
* Oversee all aspects of food preparation and cooking, ensuring quality and consistency in every dish served.
* Develop and implement menus that reflect current culinary trends while meeting customer preferences.
* Maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene in compliance with health regulations.
* Train and mentor kitchen staff in cooking techniques, food safety practices, and team management skills.
* Monitor inventory levels and assist in ordering supplies as needed to maintain stock levels.
* Manage kitchen budgets effectively while minimising waste and maximising profitability.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
* Overall day-to-day management of the kitchen.
* Preparations of menus and diet sheets in consultation with the Manager/Deputy Matron and Dietician.
* Ordering of food and other goods and implementation of stock control. Food orders will be presented to the Manager or Deputy Matron for approval. Stock control will be carried our weekly.
* Record Keeping as necessary and submission of records into the office for evidence.
* Budgetary Controls
* Preparing and Cooking of all foods and maintaining all the hygiene standards during this process.
* Washing up duties as required
* Ensuring that the hygiene standards within the kitchen meet Local Environmental Health Department requirements.
* Ensure the well being and safety of all kitchen equipment and utensils.
* Be responsible for keeping a list of items that belongs to the home.
* Report any malfunctions of equipment either to the maintenance person or the manager and record in an appropriate place for attention.
* Any other duties as required.
