As a Transport and Compliance Manager you will be instrumental in ensuring the efficient and compliant operation of our transportation fleet, focusing on maintenance planning, regulatory adherence and safety protocol implementation.
Position: Transport and Compliance Manager
Location: Tonbridge Depot, Tonbridge, Kent
Job Type: Permanent, full-time
Hours: Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week
Salary: £36,000 to £42,500 dependent on experience

Responsibilities
* Vehicle Maintenance
o Develop and execute comprehensive preventive maintenance programs for the transportation fleet.
o Collaborate with in-house maintenance teams and external service providers to ensure timely and efficient repairs and inspections.
o Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities, including schedules and costs.
* Regulatory Compliance
o Stay abreast of UK transportation regulations and standards, ensuring compliance with local, national and industry laws.
o Conduct regular audits to verify safety and environmental regulation compliance.
o Work with authorities and agencies to address issues and stay informed about updates.
* Safety Protocols
o Implement and enforce robust safety protocols to minimise accidents and protect transportation personnel.
o Provide training to drivers and staff on safety procedures and compliance requirements.
o Investigate and report incidents, taking corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
* Working with Key Stakeholders
o Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to ensure clear communication and aligned objectives.
o Engage with regulatory bodies, suppliers and clients to address concerns and foster relationships.
* Documentation and Reporting
o Maintain records of vehicle inspections, maintenance and compliance activities.
o Generate management reports with KPIs on maintenance and compliance.
* Vendor Management
o Coordinate with external vendors for vehicle maintenance and compliance services, ensuring cost-effectiveness and high quality.
About You
The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, excellent organisational and communication skills, and a commitment to safety and compliance. They will have knowledge of UK transportation regulations and compliance standards. Experience with maintenance software and record-keeping systems is beneficial. A full UK driving licence is essential.
