Contract until 30/09/2025 Shifts: 7:0010:30, 14:3019:30, 14:3022:00 We are recruiting three experienced support workers to join a specialist SEND short break service providing care and meaningful engagement for children and young people with severe learning disabilities, physical disabilities, and complex needs. This is a vital, hands-on role supporting individuals through day-to-day activities both in the home and out in the community, and helping them achieve their potential in a safe and nurturing environment. Key Requirements: Experience supporting individuals with SEND (including non-verbal people) Proficient spoken and written English Manual handling, First Aid, and Behaviour Management training (essential) Experience with basic signing (desirable) Commitment to providing care with dignity, empathy, and respect Ability to work flexibly across early morning, afternoon, and evening shifts A strong understanding of safeguarding, person-centred care, and positive behaviour support Key Responsibilities: Provide personal care and support tailored to individual needs Promote communication, independence, and engagement Implement behaviour support strategies Support with mobility and safe use of equipment Maintain accurate records and care plans Collaborate with families and professionals to deliver consistent care Work in a therapeutic, trauma-informed, and inclusive way Full support and additional training will be provided to successful candidates.
