About the Role: As a Food Technology Teacher, you will have the unique opportunity to ignite students' passion for food and nutrition while teaching across the age and attainment range at both Key Stage 3 and 4. From mastering basic cooking techniques to exploring the science behind food, you'll play a crucial role in fostering creativity, practical skills, and healthy eating habits.
Key Responsibilities:
* Plan and deliver engaging and interactive lessons that cover a range of culinary topics, from food preparation and cooking techniques to nutrition and food safety.
* Create a supportive and inclusive learning environment where students feel empowered to explore their culinary interests and talents.
* Develop a dynamic and relevant curriculum that reflects industry trends, dietary guidelines, and cultural diversity.
* Provide constructive feedback and guidance to help students develop practical cooking skills and culinary knowledge.
* Collaborate with colleagues to organize practical cooking sessions, food demonstrations, and extracurricular activities.
Qualifications and Requirements:
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent (for experienced teachers).
* ECTs qualifying this year and unqualified teachers are encouraged to apply, with support and mentorship provided.
* A genuine passion for food and nutrition education, along with strong subject knowledge in Food Technology.
* Excellent communication skills and the ability to engage and inspire students of all abilities and backgrounds.
* Safer Recruitment in Education check will be required for successful candidates.
