Prime Waste Services Ltd is seeking an experienced and reliable Grab Lorry Driver to join our dynamic logistics team. We specialize in waste management services, and our ideal candidate will have a solid background in commercial driving, particularly with grab lorries. This role is perfect for someone who understands the variability of workload, with some weeks being busier than others, yet minimum weekly hours will be assured.
Responsibilities
* Safely operate grab lorries, adhering to all relevant road regulations and company protocols.
* Conduct thorough pre-trip vehicle inspections to ensure readiness and compliance with safety standards.
* Manage the secure loading and unloading of materials, ensuring that all cargo is handled and secured properly.
* Keep detailed records of deliveries, including logs on mileage, fuel consumption, and cargo details.
* Communicate promptly with dispatchers and clients to provide updates on delivery times and any issues encountered.
* Uphold health and safety practices at all times, whether on the road or at customer sites.
Requirements
* ALLMI Licence: A valid ALLMI certification is mandatory.
* Experience: At least 5 years of driving experience, preferably in the waste management or logistics sectors.
* Licence: Valid CPC and other necessary endorsements for operating commercial lorries in the UK.
* Driving Record: A clean driving record with no major incidents.
* Physical Fitness: Ability to handle loading and unloading as needed.
* Local Resident: Must live within a reasonable distance to ensure punctuality and adaptability to the varying workload.
