Background We have a small data estate based on the Microsoft technology stack. We are looking to migrate the estate from on premise SQL Servers and SSIS to Azure SQL, Microsoft Fabric and Power BI. To build and support these new platforms, we are expanding our Data Engineering team. The data engineering team is led by the Senior Data Engineer and reports to the IT Development Manager. Role and Responsibilities On-Premise SQL ServersBuild, patch and troubleshoot Microsoft SQL Servers Create and tune Microsoft SQL Databases Create and troubleshoot Always on Availability Groups Build, patch and troubleshoot Windows Server Virtual machines. Maintain SQL native and 3rd party Backups Create and troubleshoot SQL Server maintenance plans Quarterly testing of Database Restore and Disaster Recovery procedures Azure SQL CloudDeploy and troubleshoot Logical SQL Servers, Azure SQL Database and Elastic Pools Deploy and troubleshoot Azure SQL Managed Instances Build and Maintain Azure Data Factory (ADF) pipelines Performance monitoring and tuning for all pipelines and client applications Optimise and troubleshoot complex T-SQL queries Essential Skills Ideally you will have passed: DP-300 (Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate) Or at least have 1 year of experience working with all of the following technologies: Microsoft SQL Server 2017-2022 Windows Server 2016-2022 Virtual Machines Microsoft Azure SQL Database and Elastic Pools Microsoft Azure SQL Managed Instance Azure Data Factory Programming Languages ( T-SQL ) Desirable Skills Enthusiasm for learning and self-study Proficient in creating process documentation and sharing knowledge Comfortable speaking with people from all teams ( IT, Finance, Legal, Marketing, Directors ) Experience working in a law firm or with legal / financial teams Who are we looking for?
