Manufacturing & Process Engineer (Composite/Interior Composite) Company: Boeing United Kingdom Limited We are seeking an experienced Manufacturing - Process Engineer to own and directly support key activities across the IHSS RTM program workstreams (3m and 8m demonstrators, tooling, seals, skin consolidation, stringer and fibreform developments, and digital data analysis). This role will work closely with the IHSS Chief Engineer, suppliers (including Spirit), manufacturing teams and test facilities to define specifications, lead trials, produce technical documentation and ensure readiness for manufacturing and FAT/SAT activities. Position Responsibilities: Complete microsection and NDI specifications for resin test panels. Update skin preform specifications and convert 3D CAD to DXF files for ply cutting. 8m RTM tool & process development Develop FAT/SAT documentation and support manufacturing, FAT and SAT activities. Commission and run initial trials in COMPASS; iterate process settings and tooling. Produce process and quality requirement documents and panel NDI requirements. Update 8m demonstrator documentation to reflect current design baseline. RTM seal & skin consolidation tools Capture and report seal development learnings to Boeing stakeholders. Support supplier design reviews, FAT/SAT and tool commissioning in COMPASS. Temporary 8m RTM tool & 4m transfer development Define tool specifications and geometry; prepare safe systems of work (SSOW) and support RFQ activities. Support KOMs, supplier design reviews, tool manufacture monitoring and FAT/SAT. Define 4m part transfer process requirements; record trial outcomes and prepare readiness level (RL) assessments. Stringer and fibreform developments Liaise with Spirit on stringer trials; define test requirements and 8m stringer geometry/tolerance specifications. Define layup requirements for fibreform, fibretack and fibereye; support supplier trials and RL assessment preparation. Digital (3m & 8m data analysis) Define sensor/data processing and analysis needs; deliver and validate software solutions and workflows to be ready for 8m trials. Program risks and mitigation Identify and communicate risks (schedule, quality, cost); implement mitigations to avoid missed milestones, rework and cost escalation. Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience): Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Materials, Manufacturing or similar engineering discipline. 5 years’ experience in composite manufacturing/process engineering, preferably RTM/infusion or similar processes. Demonstrated experience producing technical specs, FAT/SAT documentation and overseeing trials/troubleshooting in a manufacturing/test environment. Experience with NDI, microsectioning and quality requirements for composite panels. Proficiency with CAD tools and generating DXF outputs for ply cutting. Strong supplier engagement, design review and commissioning experience. Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience): Experience with COMPASS or similar RTM tooling/test facilities. Experience with stringer/fibreform processes and layup consumables (fibretack, fibereye). Familiarity with RFQ, SSOW preparation, and readiness level (RL) assessments. Basic scripting or data-analysis skills and experience delivering/validating software tools for manufacturing data. Typical Education & Experience: Excellent technical writing and report-generation skills. Strong communication and stakeholder management — able to lead KOMs and design reviews. Problem-solving mindset with hands-on commissioning and test experience. Organized, able to manage multiple workstreams and shifting priorities. Willingness to travel to supplier sites and COMPASS for trials and FAT/SAT events. Success Measures / KPIs On-time delivery of NCF, microsection, NDI and skin preform specifications. Successful commissioning and execution of initial COMPASS trials with documented outcomes. Complete, reviewed FAT/SAT packages and signed readiness assessments. Reduced rework and supplier non-conformance rates for demonstrator builds. Accurate capture and reporting of lessons learned and risk mitigations. Relocation: This position does not offer relocation.
