Overview
Whipps Cross University Hospital, part of the Barts Health NHS Trust, is looking for a Fixed Term 12 month Consultant Stroke Physician to be based on the Whipps Cross Hospital site. 1 Year Fixed Term Contract.
Whipps Cross University Hospital is part of Barts Health NHS Trust and is located in Waltham Forest, North East London. The hospital serves a diverse local population of more than 350,000. The stroke pathway is delivered across three sites: Royal London Hospital (RLH), Whipps Cross University Hospital (WXUH) and Newham Hospital. The aim is to provide high-quality clinical care, an integrated care model, and strong support for trainees.
We are looking for a dynamic individual to lead our team with ideas and enthusiasm, and with a passion for delivering excellent clinical care.
Responsibilities
* Provide medical cover for the ASU at Whipps Cross.
* Support and lead the stroke team to deliver high-quality clinical care across the site.
* Engage with the HASU/ASU pathways and participate in relevant MDTs and clinics as described in the service model.
* Contribute to continuous service improvement and the development of stroke care across the Barts Health group.
About the Service
The stroke patient pathway is an integral part of the Barts Health policy across sites. At the RLH site there is a Hyperacute Stroke Unit (HASU) with 12 monitored beds for acute thrombolysis and thrombectomy and 14 acute stroke unit beds. The Newham ASU has 14 beds and the ASU at Whipps Cross has 19 beds. There are specialist Stroke MDTs and TIA clinics on all three sites and early-supported discharge teams.
Qualifications
* You must hold full registration with the General Medical Council and be on the Specialist Register.
