We are Work with York Limited and are working with our Local Authority client to find a qualified and experienced Social Worker, with experience of working with children and young adults with learning disabilities.
This is a temporary, full time assignment (37 hours), based within the York area so access to York is important. The assignment is initially for 3-months and hybrid working is available.
We offer a competitive rate of weekly pay, with online timesheets, holiday pay and pension.
This role involves:
1. Focusing on preparing for adulthood cases
2. Working directly with young people aged 14-25 and their families
3. Providing advice and support to colleagues, partners and stakeholders
4. Completing visits to clients
5. Working in a supportive specialist team
6. Conducting assessments and reviews with a person centred practice
7. Having a sound understanding of legislative frameworks underpinning adult and children’s social care.
You will:
8. Have a Social Work Qualification: CQSW, Dip. SW, CSS or equivalent
9. Be SWE registered
10. Have strong communication and interpersonal skills, along with an enthusiastic can-do attitude and able to prioritise your workload in an organised way.
11. Be an experienced social worker with experience of young people with SEND and disabilities
12. Be eligible to work in the UK
13. Possess a current valid DBS on the update service or be willing to undertake an online enhanced DBS check
