Practicus are partnering with Butterfly Conservation in their search for an inspiring Head of Ecology Services to lead their dedicated team in delivering expert land management advice, overseeing their nature reserves, and developing an innovative new advisory hub for external partners. šāØ
š What youāll be doing:
⢠Managing their land management work, including on BCās own nature reserves
⢠Developing an exciting new external advisory hub for ecology and land services
⢠Leading and inspiring the Ecology Services team
⢠Supporting income generation through sustainable chargeable services
⢠Representing BC in national partnerships and championing their impact
š§ Required Experience:
* A degree in biological, environmental, forestry, or rural land use scienceāor equivalent experience
* Strong knowledge of UK Lepidoptera ecology and habitat needs
* Proven experience in habitat management for nature outcomes
* Track record of developing high-value partnerships and delivering projects/contracts
* Confident using digital tools like Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, Word, Excel and more
* Skilled in budget management and financial oversight
* Strong project management abilities
* Experience in applying for and managing grants, contracts and land agreements
Role details:
* Location - remote with occasional travel required to the office in Dorset
* Salary - £38,366 to £44,427 per annum
* Contract - Full-time and permanent
