Overview
We are seeking a talented and passionate cook/chef join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food preparation and cooking, with a keen eye for detail and a commitment to food safety standards. This role requires creativity and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment. As a Chef, you will be responsible for creating delicious meals that not only satisfy but also delight our guests.
Responsibilities
* Prepare and cook high-quality meals according to the menu and customer preferences
* Ensure all food is prepared in compliance with food safety regulations
* Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area
* Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure efficient meal preparation and service
* Assist in menu planning, including seasonal specials and dietary requirements
* Monitor inventory levels of ingredients and supplies, placing orders as necessary
* Train and mentor junior kitchen staff on cooking techniques and food safety practices
* Present dishes in an appealing manner to enhance the dining experience
Qualifications
* Proven experience in a similar role within a restaurant or catering environment
* Strong culinary skills with a focus on food preparation, cooking, and meal presentation
* Knowledge of food safety standards and best practices in the kitchen
* Ability to work well under pressure while maintaining attention to detail
* Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multitask effectively
* A passion for cooking and creating innovative dishes that showcase seasonal ingredients
* Previous experience serving customers is advantageous but not essential
