Salary up to £70,000 DOE, plus up to £5,000 Relocation Allowance and up to £5,000 Welcome Bonus Crossroads Veterinary Practice is a well-established three-site small animal practice serving High Wycombe, Hazlemere, and Watlington. We're now seeking an experienced Veterinary Surgeon who thrives in a varied role, enjoys autonomy, and values strong clinical support. Your time will be split across our branches, primarily High Wycombe and your closest site, but you'll occasionally work across all three. When based at a branch you'll take sole charge, with a highly supportive wider team only a call away. A Role with Variety, Challenge, and Clinical Freedom You'll see a diverse caseload of cats, dogs, rabbits, and small furries, with the role leaning slightly more towards consulting. Surgical work includes all routine operations such as spays, castrates, and lump removals, as well as a wide range of first-opinion and the occasional ECC case. If you have an interest, or a certificate, in orthopaedics, you'll find excellent opportunities to build your caseload. While we happily refer where appropriate, our in-house capabilities mean you can work cases up thoroughly and maintain strong clinical continuity. All the Equipment You Need to Excel Across our branches you'll have access to a comprehensive suite of modern equipment, including X-ray, dental X-ray, abdominal and cardiac ultrasound, endoscopy, rhinoscopy, IDEXX lab machines, TONO-Pen, EPOC, coagulation testing, and access to Vets Now equipment when required. Everything is in place to help you deliver the high standard of care you're used to. A Flexible Working Pattern That Respects Your Time This is a full-time role of 40 hours over four days with start times of 8 or 8:30am and variable finish times between 6pm and 7pm. Part-time applications are welcomed. Our weekend rota is shared fairly across the team at 3:7 for full-time staff (pro-rata for part-time), and as a Vets Now host practice, we have no OOH or on-call, allowing you to maintain a healthy work-life balance. A Purpose-Built Clinical Environment Designed for Quality Care Our main High Wycombe practice, based in the town centre, offers a large and thoughtfully designed clinical space. With separate cat and dog waiting areas, four consult rooms (including a dedicated RVN consult room), a spacious dispensary, three prep zones, two theatres, digital and dental X-ray, an ultrasound suite, an IDEXX-equipped lab, dedicated office space for admin and case work-ups, and comfortable staff areas including a wellbeing room, kitchen with a fruit basket and a well stocked biscuit tin, you'll have everything you need to work efficiently and comfortably. An Experienced, Supportive, And Collaborative Team You'll join a friendly and skilled team of 8 vets, 7 RVNs, 2 SVNs, and 2 PCAs, supported by our brilliant client care reception, admin and management team. We're home to certificate holders in Surgery and Veterinary Business Management, and we're always open to supporting vets through further qualifications. With talented graduates within the team, this is also a great environment for someone who enjoys mentorship and sharing their expertise. A Practice Embedded in the Local Community Crossroads is proud of its community connections. We work closely with local dog rescue organisations, Cats Protection, and several independent cat charities, helping make a difference both inside and outside the practice walls.
