About the Role
Are you a qualified Domestic Energy Assessor with a passion for training and mentoring? Join one of London's largest further education colleges as a Retrofit & Domestic Energy Assessor Trainer. You will deliver high-quality training and assessments, equipping learners with the technical knowledge, practical skills, and confidence to work as professional Retrofit Assessors.
You will play a key role in helping learners achieve nationally recognised qualifications in Domestic Energy Assessment (DEA) and Retrofit practices while ensuring all teaching and assessment activities meet industry and awarding body standards.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver engaging and effective training in DEA and Retrofit practices.
* Develop lesson plans, course materials, and resources to support learner progression.
* Coach, mentor, and provide constructive feedback to learners.
* Assess learner competence through observations, portfolios, and professional discussions.
* Stay up to date with current Retrofit and DEA regulations, including PAS 2035/2038 requirements.
* Monitor learner progress, maintain accurate records, and complete administration tasks.
* Promote safe working practices in line with health and safety regulations.
* Collaborate with colleagues, employers, and industry stakeholders to maintain high training standards.
Person Specification – Essential
* Qualified Domestic Energy Assessor (DEA) and Retrofit Assessor.
* Strong knowledge of Retrofit standards, including PAS 2035/2038.
* Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills.
* Ability to motivate and support learners with diverse needs.
* Commitment to continuous professional development (CPD).
* Experience either as a teacher, or as an in-house/internal trainer within DEA.

* Recognised teaching qualification (PTLLS, AET, or equivalent)
