Position: Project Design Engineer
Contract: Permanent, Full Time
Worcestershire (Hybrid Working Available)
Salary: up to £50,500 (depending on experience) plus performance bonus (paid twice yearly in June & December payslip), Plus Flexitime (employees can choose their working pattern)

PRS Engineering has engaged with a key client and a leading Oil & Gas Equipment manufacturer based in the Worcestershire area. Due to team expansion and booming industry, we are seeking a Project Design Engineer on a permanent basis.
Responsible for various ongoing projects including the cost-effective design, material procurement, instigation, control and compilation and submission of all associated engineering documentation
Directly responsible to the Engineering Manager and Lead Engineers in their absence
may have the services of Junior Engineers, Draughtspersons and Trainee Engineers
Liaises externally with clients, certified authorities, third party inspection bodies, suppliers, sub-contractors, etc.
Shall be fully committed to the achievement of the company policies and objectives with attention to quality, safety & environment
Special respect shall be paid to quality and safety and include but not be limited to the following:
Assisting in the creation of standard 3D models and library parts (workload permitting)
Design
Producing General Arrangement drawings, Manufacturing drawings and Technical Specifications
Producing 3D models for estimating weights, volumes, interferences, determining complex geometry, etc.
Verification of designs by calculations and/or FEA/CFD (analysis to be carried out under supervision)
Designing products that comply with applicable design codes, e.g. Instigation and ongoing control of projects/contracts from Sales hand-over through to delivery.
Liaison with Quality/Production to ensure ‘sub-contract’ and ‘in-house’ activity is considered and controlled
Supervising workshop personnel and/or sub-contractors, as required
Organisation and preparation of all engineering documentation requirements, as required by the contract
Submission of required contract documentation to client/third party, via the Documentation department

Minimum GCSE Grade 5 (equivalent grade C) or higher in Maths & English HNC in Mechanical Engineering or similar
Essential knowledge of Microsoft packages (Outlook, Word, Excel) and Adobe Acrobat
AutoCAD experience essential
SolidWorks & 3D Modelling
Knowledge of manufacturing, welding, piping and materials essential Experience of working within the Oil & Gas industry preferred
Experience of fabricated & cast filters, strainers and pressure vessels required

Office hours enable flexi-time working, covering a 37-hour week. Flexible start and finish times are available with core hours which must be covered each day. Monday to Thursday covers an 8-hour shift and Friday covers a 5-hour shift
