Key Responsibilities
Due to ongoing growth and a strong pipeline of future work, we are seeking several seasonal ecologists to join our respected team in Mold.
As a seasonal Ecologist, you will work on diverse projects supporting clients in the low carbon economy, including renewable energy projects, nature-based solutions, biodiversity net gain advice, habitat and peatland restoration, and nature conservation.
Your duties will include conducting ornithology, habitat, and protected species surveys, providing Ecological Clerk of Works (ECoW) support, and assisting with data input, analysis, research, and report writing. This role offers invaluable experience in survey methodologies, mitigation, and best practices.
These seasonal roles are fixed-term contracts of 6 to 8 months, starting February/March 2024. Many of our seasonal ecologists transition into full-time positions with us.
Who Are We Looking For?
* Currently studying towards or holding a degree in a relevant environmental or ecology-related subject.
* Familiarity with wildlife legislation and ecological survey methodologies.
* An interest in ornithology and the ability to identify bird species is advantageous.
* Attention to detail in recording and transcribing survey data.
* Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
* Strong report-writing skills with an eye for detail.
* Proficiency in MS Word and Excel for report preparation.
* Willingness to work in remote locations and stay away from home during the workweek.
* Hold a full driving license.
