Weare seeking a motivated, reliable, and conscientious individual with at least 3years experience in general practice to join our team as deputy receptionmanager. This is a key role within the practice, supporting the smoothday-to-day running of reception services while helping to maintain a safe andwell-organised environment for both patients and staff.


Main duties of the job

* Patient Interactions including handling incoming phone calls promptly and effectively
* Responding to patient enquiries both in person and via telephone/email Maintain patient confidentiality at all times
* Support the reception manager in overseeing the daily operations of the reception team
* Supervise and support reception staff, including rota management and performance oversight
* Ensure high standards of patient service and effective communication
* Assist in managing complaints and resolving patient queries
* Support aspects of health and safety compliance across the building
* Help enforce and monitor infection prevention and control policies in the reception area.
* Contribute to maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming practice environment
* Lead on the effective recall process in reception
* Maintain and update patient slide show in reception in collaboration with ops manager
* Support implementation of any new initiatives/ services in reception


About us

We are a friendly, dynamic and supportive training practice based in a purpose-built building in the heart of vibrant Kings Cross. Were a stones throw from the largest regeneration project in Europe and minutes away from Eurostar. We are a diverse clinical team made up of doctors, Registrars, F2s, Nurses, Pharmacists, PA, Physiotherapist, Paramedic and HCAs. We have a large administration team to provide support for all clinicians. Weserve a very diverse patient population of more than 13,000 patients and wehave great links to the community via our PPG and other local community groups.

Hours: 30 hours per week. Friday late shifts are essential, variable shifts across the remaining weekdays

Pay: £17.5 per hour

Work Location: In person at KillickStreet Heath Centre

Person Specification

PersonSpecification

* Experience working in a GP practice reception setting
* Demonstrable experience supporting or supervising a team
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills
* Ability to prioritise workload and work under pressure
* Good IT skills and confidence using EMIS and MS office applications
* Reliable, organised, and proactive approach
* Previous experience in a supervisory or deputy manager role
* Basic understanding of health and safety and infection control requirements in primary care

Communication: The post-holder should recognise the importance of effective communication within the team and will strive to: Communicate effectively with other team members. Communicate effectively with patientsand carers. Recognise peoples needs for alternative methods of communication and respond accordingly.

Contribution to the Implementation of Services: The post-holder will: Apply practice policies, standards and guidance. Discuss with other members of the team how the policies, standards and guidelines will affect own work.
