Job Overview
Position: Rotating Engineer (Courtright manufacturing site). Reports to the Rotating and Reliability Supervisor within the Maintenance department. The role focuses on providing machinery engineering and field support to optimize rotating equipment performance and drive reliability improvements.
Responsibilities
* Support and participate in all Environment, Health and Safety initiatives and activities, promote EH&S programs, and ensure compliance within the Rotating and Reliability group.
* Review design details to ensure proposed equipment meets process requirements and provides a high level of reliability.
* Perform technical evaluations of existing equipment, monitor performance, investigate problems, recommend improvements, and lead machinery repairs and overhauls.
* Provide advice on machinery performance, overhaul frequency, planning, and work standards.
* Collaborate with vendors, consultants, and contacts during major capital improvement projects to maintain effective project execution.
* Participate in Continuous Improvement initiatives, applying Quality Planning and Improvement Principles to routine duties.
* Coordinate and communicate with the Engineering and Maintenance Departments to promote teamwork and enhance project development and execution.
Qualifications
* BS degree in Mechanical Engineering with P. Eng designation.
* Minimum 5–10 years of experience in rotating equipment engineering within an industrial plant.
* In‑depth knowledge of compressors (reciprocating and centrifugal), pumps, fans/blowers, large industrial motors, and steam turbines.
* Experience in continuous chemical production or refinery environments is an asset.
* Knowledge of Rotating Equipment Standards (API 610, 611, 617, 682, 687, etc.).
* Commitment to process safety as part of corporate culture, responsibility, and accountability.
Salary and Benefits
Estimated base pay: $121,700 – $152,700, depending on education, training, qualifications, and experience.
