Responsibilities
* Lead the expansion of Rodgers Leask’s Nottingham Transport Planning Team, to complement the office’s existing multi-disciplinary services.
* Work with an experienced Senior Transport Planner and report to the Regional Director and Transport Planning Associate Director.
* Manage multiple projects and key client contacts, and pursue new business opportunities.
* Prepare Transport Notes, Statements and Assessments, Travel Plans, and related reporting.
* Ensure designs and plans are robust, cost effective, and deliverable.
Qualifications
* 12+ years’ experience in the industry with an aspiration to grow, establish and manage your own transport planning team.
* Proven track record of developing new business, managing projects, and coordinating with clients and stakeholders.
* Excellent report writing skills; experience with Transport Notes, Statements and Assessments, and Travel Plans.
* Understanding of local and national transport policy and guidance; expert witness experience at planning appeals or similar.
* Excellent organisation, communication, and presentation skills with high attention to detail.
* Member of a professional institution such as CIHT, IHE, TPS (chartered via TPP or CMILT preferred).
* Knowledge of sustainable/active travel innovations and design standards.
* Knowledge of DfT Webtag policy and modelling tools (VISSIM, PARAMICS).
* Competent with junction capacity modelling software (Junctions 10, LinSig) and other tools (TRICS, TEMPro).
* Proficient in AutoCAD for preliminary highway design and applicable design guidance.
* Competent with GIS software (QGIS, ArcGIS, MapInfo, Basemap TRACC, Podaris).
