Sports Coach Location: Rawtenstall Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:50am – 3:30pm Pay: £13.75 – £14.50 per hour We are seeking a dedicated, resilient Sports Coach / Teaching Assistant to join the KS4 department in a specialist SEN school in Rawtenstall. This is a varied and rewarding role combining sports coaching with general Teaching Assistant support, working with pupils who have special educational needs and may display challenging behaviours. The Role Supporting KS4 pupils within a specialist SEN setting Delivering and supporting sports and physical activities, often outside of the classroom Supporting pupils when they are dysregulated, using physical activity and positive relationships to help regulate behaviour Providing one-to-one and small group support in and out of the classroom Assisting teachers with lesson delivery, classroom management and pupil engagement Supporting pupils with their emotional, social and academic development Working closely with teaching and pastoral staff to maintain a safe, structured and supportive environment The Ideal Candidate Experience working with young people with SEN and/or challenging behaviour (desirable) Background in sports coaching, PE, youth work, mentoring or education support Calm, patient and confident when managing challenging situations Flexible and willing to support both classroom learning and physical activities Strong communication skills and a positive, team-focused attitude If you are passionate about supporting young people through sport, structure and positive relationships, we would welcome your application.
