Role Overview
Registered Nurse in the Ophthalmology Outpatients/Day Ward at Inverclyde Royal Hospital. The successful candidate will work as part of the Ophthalmology team, deputising for the Senior Charge Nurse and supervising a team of RNs and HCSWs. You will be responsible for assessment delivery and supervision of all care needs within the outpatient/Day Ward setting, working collaboratively with nursing and medical teams.
Key Responsibilities
* Assess patient needs and implement evidence‑based care programmes.
* Lead and participate in Nurse‑Led clinics.
* Competently perform necessary technical/invasive care for the patient group.
* Expand professional skills to meet patient needs.
* Maintain effective communication with all disciplines and patients.
* Practice within the NMC and national legislation framework.
* Ensure completion of clinical appraisals for pre‑ and post‑registration nurses.
* Assist the Senior Charge Nurse in motivating and retaining the nursing team.

Qualifications & Experience
* Registered Nurse (Part 1 & 12) with a minimum of 3 years post‑registration experience.
* Demonstrable experience in Ophthalmology.
* Relevant managerial and clinical skills.
* Evidence of continued professional development in Ophthalmology.
* Educated to, or working towards, degree level or equivalent.
* Ability to fulfil the criteria outlined in the job description.
Work Pattern & Location
* Location: Inverclyde Royal Hospital.
* Contract: Permanent.
* Position: Full‑time (36 hours per week).
* Shift pattern: Monday to Friday.
