Are you a GMC-registered doctor with a Diploma in Occupational Medicine (DOccMed), ready to take your first step into a career in Occupational Health? Our Doctors in Development Programme offers a dedicated, structured, entry route into occupational medicine – with the intensive senior support, case coaching, and educational scaffolding you need to build a strong clinical foundation from day one.

This role is ideal for newly qualified DOccMed physicians. Over the course of a six-month structured training programme, you will progress through defined clinical phases, gradually building towards a full occupational health physician caseload. Senior physicians are embedded in your development throughout – not just available, but actively involved in coaching every case you manage.

Health Partners works with a diverse portfolio of clients spanning commercial, industrial, and public sector organisations - from manufacturing and logistics to financial services, utilities, and central government. As the largest team of occupational health physicians under one roof in the UK, we offer the unique breadth of clinical exposure that comes from working across multiple industries simultaneously, combined with the collegiate support of a large, experienced physician community. For a doctor entering the specialty, this breadth is invaluable - you will encounter the full spectrum of occupational health practice from the very start of your career, building a breadth of clinical expertise.

Completing the Doctors in Development Programme is just the beginning. We provide occupational physicians with a clear, supported professional development pathway to specialist practice in the industry. Programme graduates receive active support in building the CESR portfolio required for specialist registration. Health Partners also offers a range of longer-term development opportunities depending on your interests and career goals, including work with our Health Surveillance, Specialist Medicals, and Pensions teams, and the possibility of taking on direct clinical liaison responsibilities with client organisations, including client Chief Medical Officer roles.

Programme Highlights

* Structured clinical training across progressive phases, gradually building up to full OHP caseloads
* Regular one-to-one mentorship from senior Occupational Health Physicians
* Formal educational sessions including lectures, case discussions, and reflective learning
* Continuous feedback and audit to support your growth and clinical confidence
